Are We There Yet?

Can we just get the Conventions done and over with and pick the canidates and ride it out until November?
I'm serious when I say this...the real race will begin when everyone announces who their running mate is going to be. And then I say..."LET THE GAMES BEGIN"
But I'm ready for it to be done.

Yes, Really! Dee works with a friend of mine (Christina) and introduced us about a month ago. I took one look at her and said, "Yes, I have seen you. You had this fetching red frock on and your legs were from here to Altoona. Just stunning." And then she blushed. YES!
Then Dee was teasing Christina and I said, "you better be nice or I'll take your lip gloss away" and she giggled. From that moment on, we were friends.
So, If I need a moment to dish or just get out of my head, I mozy on down to the record shop in the mall and visit with my new friend.

And now when I go to the club with Becky...I'll find Miss Dee-Lovely and we'll be part of the beautiful people. Well, maybe she'll be the beauty and I'll just be the girl that is her friend.
And since that "round numbered" birthday is coming up...Miss Dee said she'll make me up for that night. Oh to be that stunning for an evening. OH WHAT THE HELL!!! You only live once. She's going to have to teach me how to walk in those heels of hers! I can do the 4 in stilettos, but damn...Dee's heels make one an AMAZON!

I love this new album by Duffy.

She reminds me of Another of my Faves...
Dusty Springfield. (Come on...the blonde hair, the eyeliner, the voice, the style. Can you say reincarnation?!?)
Duffy says she doesn't want to be called the new Dusty. That's fine with me because there is only one, but you do have to admit, when you get a chance to hear her, you will hear the resemblance to Dusty.

Now, I come from a town that has an amazing bakery. I would walk miles for their bismarks or their glazed donuts. But in Canada, I had the privledge of going to a place that MASS MARKETS these beautiful glazed donuts. Krispy Kreme has NOTHING on Tim Hortons. But no one can touch the Durand Bakery.

Tim Bit Sundae

(I apologize in advance for the sheer ass-scratching pointlessness of this story.)

As you know, I tend to get super jazzed about foodstuffs. Every day on set, I'm excited to see what the nice catering people have prepared for my insatiable maw. Today, I yelped with glee when we assembled at the truck and I saw that there were Tim Bits for dessert. (Tim Bits, for non-Canucks, are donut holes from Tim Horton's. They're exactly like Dunkin Donuts Munchkins; wee bliss nuggets with a wet-dream glaze.)

"TIM BITS!" I shrieked as I raced toward the truck, arms pinwheeling wildly.

"Better," a disembodied voice (cast? crew?) intoned dramatically. "Tim Bit sundaes."

Sweet bride of fuck. You take some Tim Bits-- just Tim Bits, curiously, no ice cream-- put them in a bowl (oh yes), add CARAMEL and HOT FUDGE and RASPBERRY SAUCE and CRUSHED NUTS and then you grab the Redi-Whip and give that bitch a pearl necklace.

FUUUUUUUCK!It is the dessert equivalent of a failure pile in a sadness bowl. Except perfect and delicious and right.

Yum. Mama's tummy is pet-python distended.

I LOVE DIABLO...Christ on the Freeway...gotta try this sometime. MMmmmm.

It's that time again....

Time for the A&E 2 disc Special Edition of Pride and Prejudice.
The love / hate relationship between Lizzy and Mr Darcy is wonderful. You just want to scream...JUST KISS HER AND GET IT OVER WITH.
But there are special moments in the film:
Colin Firth with a wet shirt.
Colin Firth in the bath.
Colin Firth in tight short pants.
Colin Firth with smouldering looks that could make a dead woman swoon alive.
He makes me want to shoop. (To borrow a phrase from Mimi)
Long live Darcy and Elizabeth... Makes a girl seek her own Darcy.

I LOVE THIS BAND

2 Hours
For 2 hours I was highly entertained.
I liked this band before...now I love them.
An extended version of "Impossible Germany" (One of my faves...) was amazing. Summerteeth is a toetapper. Hummingbird was great and California Stars was a sing along.

I'd go again in a heartbeat. Love the lyrics. Love the textures.
And the great thing was...I was there to be a part of the first show of the summer tour.
